Of Fish, Fishing, and the Folly of Men
Spring mornings, English gardens, and the music of Kevin Kendle, which almost fills my iPod as much as it fills my soul.
Apparently, an Inspiring combination.
Of Fish, Fishing, and
the Folly of Men
"Give a man a fish, and you feed him for a day.
Teach a man to fish, and you feed him for life."
Or so the saying goes,
To teach men the difference between
Kind hearted folly and thoughtful wisdom.
Yet if the man was starving
and near death, what then?
Do you keep feeding him until
His belly is full with fish?
Knowing that he may not stay
To learn to catch that fish?
Or
Do you keep starving him until
You teach him how to fish?
Knowing that he may not live
To learn to catch that fish?
Is one way folly, and the other wisdom, then?
Or is the folly
In idle contemplation,
And doing neither,
And wisdom in doing either?
